  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into a rectangular piece of about 20×25 cm.
  3. Spread the cream cheese of the pastry dough sheet. Use the round side of a spoon for an equal spread.
  4. Sprinkle some kurkuma and cumin powder over the cheese, along with some pepper and salt.
  5. Cut the fig into 6 parts and spread them over the pastry dough’s short side (see photo).
  6. Roll up the pastry dough sheet, covering the first row of fig parts. Then cut the second fig into another 6 parts and make a new row (see photo).
  7. Roll up the rest of the puff pastry dough and lay it out on a baking tray with its seam facing down.
  8. Sprinkle the strudel with cumin and kurkuma powder, season to taste with pepper and salt, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  9. Bake the strudel in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
  10. Serve it hot or cold with a side salad of your choosing.

Tip: you can use the leftover pastry dough to make homemade pastries or breadsticks!
